The short answer: For a list of up to 2,000 contacts, Moosend Pro costs the same as Brevo Starter or $1 less a month, and it includes automations and landing pages that Brevo Starter either limits or leaves out. So pick Moosend if you're going to pay anyway. Pick Brevo if you want to start for $0 (Moosend has only a 30-day trial), or if your list is 2,500 to 5,000 and you send about once a week or less. There, Brevo Starter is $7 to $16 a month cheaper by our math, before its $12/month logo-removal add-on.

Prices are monthly billing, as of November 2026 for Brevo (checked November 2) and October 2026 for Moosend (checked October 31). We signed up for Brevo's free plan but haven't sent email from it, and we haven't used Moosend. Everything below comes from the two companies' pricing pages. Enter your own numbers into each pricing slider before you pay.

Why "how often you send" decides it (but less than you'd think)

The two tools charge for different things:

  • Brevo charges for emails sent per month. Starter is $9/month for 5,000 emails (pricing). One email to one contact is one send, so a newsletter to 1,000 people uses 1,000.
  • Moosend charges for subscribers, with unlimited sends. Pro is $9/month up to 500 subscribers, $16 at 1,000, $24 at 2,000, $32 at 3,000 and $48 at 5,000 (pricing).

That sounds like Brevo should always win if you email rarely. On a small list it often doesn't, because Brevo's paid plans also cap how many contacts you can store at each email tier. In Brevo's machine-readable pricing page, Starter's 5,000-email tier stores up to 500 contacts, 10,000 emails up to 1,500, 15,000 emails up to 2,500, and 20,000 emails or more up to 500,000. So with 1,000 contacts you're on the 10,000-email tier even if you send just once a month.

Under about 2,500 contacts, it's usually the contact cap, not your send count, that sets Brevo's price.

Cost by list size and sending frequency

These Brevo Starter totals are our calculation: the $9 base price plus the add-on for each email tier listed in Brevo's pricing.md (+$8 for 10,000 emails, +$16 for 15,000, +$23 for 20,000, +$30 for 30,000, +$37 for 40,000). We couldn't see these totals on the pricing slider itself, so check yours there. We count every email as one send toward the monthly total and pick the lowest tier that covers both your sends and your contacts. "Weekly" here means 4 sends; in a month with 5 weekly sends, 5,000 contacts uses 25,000 emails, which falls in the 30,000 tier ($39 by the same math).

Contacts 1 send a month 4 sends (weekly) 8 sends (twice a week) Moosend Pro (any number of sends)
500 $9 (500 emails) $9 (2,000 emails) $9 (4,000 emails) $9
1,000 $17 (contact cap needs the 10,000 tier) $17 (4,000 emails) $17 (8,000 emails) $16
2,000 $25 (contact cap needs the 15,000 tier) $25 (8,000 emails) $32 (16,000 emails) $24
2,500 $25 (contact cap needs the 15,000 tier) $25 (10,000 emails) $32 (20,000 emails) $32
5,000 $32 (contact cap needs the 20,000 tier) $32 (20,000 emails) $46 (40,000 emails) $48

Bar chart of monthly cost for a weekly newsletter: Brevo Starter $9 and Moosend Pro $9 at 500 contacts; $17 and $16 at 1,000; $25 and $32 at 2,500; $32 and $48 at 5,000. Removing Brevo's logo on Starter adds $12 a month.

What the table shows:

  • 500 contacts: a tie at $9. Brevo Starter stays at $9 up to 10 sends a month (5,000 emails). Send more and it jumps to $17, while Moosend stays at $9.
  • 1,000 to 2,000 contacts: Moosend is at least $1 a month cheaper at every frequency, and the gap widens if you send often (at 2,000 contacts, twice-weekly sending is $32 on Brevo vs. $24 on Moosend).
  • 2,500 contacts: Brevo is $7 cheaper ($25 vs. $32) as long as you send no more than 6 times a month (15,000 emails). At 7 or 8 sends they tie at $32.
  • 5,000 contacts: Brevo is $16 cheaper at weekly sending ($32 vs. $48), and still $2 cheaper at twice a week ($46 vs. $48). It only passes Moosend's $48 above 8 sends a month, when you'd need the 50,000-email tier.

Three things can change your Brevo number:

  1. Automated emails. A welcome series also sends email. Brevo's pricing page counts monthly email sends, and we couldn't find anything there saying automation emails are counted separately, so we'd plan as if they come out of the same total.
  2. List growth. Passing 500, 1,500 or 2,500 contacts pushes you up a Brevo tier even if you send no more email. Moosend has the same kind of jumps at 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 subscribers.
  3. Annual billing. Moosend takes 20% off for paying yearly (500 subscribers drops to $7/month, 5,000 to $38/month). Brevo's pricing.md lists 10% off yearly, and the yearly prices it gives for the email add-ons include that discount too. So prepaying narrows Brevo's lead at 2,500 to 5,000. At 5,000 contacts and weekly sending, for example, it's about $38/month on Moosend vs. about $29/month on Brevo ($97 + $248 = $345 a year).

Starting free: Brevo has a free plan, Moosend has a trial

If you don't want to pay anything yet, this decides it for you.

Brevo's free plan has no time limit and needs no credit card (pricing). When we signed up, the form said "no credit card required."

Brevo’s signup form says “no credit card required” for the free plan. See the whole screen

The catch is the 300-emails-a-day cap. That's fine for a list under about 300. On a bigger list, each newsletter has to be finished over several days. Our Brevo free plan guide has the days-per-send math. Free emails also carry Brevo's logo, which can't be removed on the free plan.

Moosend has no free plan any more. You get a 30-day trial with no card, unlimited sends to up to 1,000 contacts, and one published automation. Its landing page and form can't be published during the trial (pricing). After that, you pay. Our Moosend Pro guide covers the trial and what happens when it ends.

So a common path is to start on Brevo free while your list is small, then decide when you outgrow 300 a day. If you switch to Moosend at that point, you'd be moving your list and rebuilding automations, so factor in the setup time.

On price alone the two are close on a small list. Features often settle it.

What that means in money:

  • If you need landing pages, Starter won't do. You need Brevo Standard. By our math, Standard is $18 at 500 contacts, $35 at 1,000 (10,000-email tier), $49 at 2,500 (15,000-email tier) and $69 at 5,000 (20,000-email tier). That's more than Moosend Pro at every size in our table ($9, $16, $32 and $48).
  • If the logo matters, add $12 to Brevo Starter. Weekly sending then costs $21 vs. $9 at 500 contacts, $29 vs. $16 at 1,000, $37 vs. $32 at 2,500, and $44 vs. $48 at 5,000 (Brevo plus the add-on vs. Moosend Pro). With the add-on, Brevo Starter is cheaper only at 5,000 contacts. We couldn't confirm whether Moosend Pro emails show any Moosend branding, so check a test email during the trial.
  • If you'll automate for more than 2,000 contacts, Brevo Free and Starter are listed as "limited to 2,000 contacts." For a 2,500 to 5,000 list where most people pass through a welcome series, that limit is the one to plan around. Lifting it means Standard.

Brevo

Why people pick it

  • A free plan with no time limit and no card, so you can start at $0.
  • At 2,500 to 5,000 contacts sent weekly or less, Starter is cheaper than Moosend Pro ($25 vs. $32, $32 vs. $48).
  • No daily cap on Starter, according to Brevo's help center (a search excerpt; we couldn't open the page live).
  • Up to 100,000 contacts stored on the free plan, so you can import a big list before you decide.

Downsides

  • Paid tiers cap stored contacts (500 on the $9 tier), so a small list can still need a pricier tier.
  • Starter has no landing pages, no A/B testing, one user, and automation limited to 2,000 contacts.
  • The logo stays on free emails and costs $12/month to remove on Starter.
  • Sending more often raises the bill. That doesn't happen on Moosend.

Who should not choose Brevo: you have 1,000 to 2,000 contacts and will pay anyway, or you need landing pages and logo-free emails without moving up to Standard.

Moosend

Why people pick it

  • Unlimited sends at every tier, so a twice-weekly newsletter costs the same as a monthly one.
  • Automations, forms and landing pages are ticked on Pro, its cheapest paid plan, according to the pricing page.
  • Equal to or cheaper than Brevo Starter up to 2,000 contacts, and cheaper than Brevo Standard at every size we priced.
  • 20% off for annual billing, and five team members on Pro.

Downsides

  • No free plan. After the 30-day trial, you pay or stop.
  • At 2,500 to 5,000 contacts with weekly or less frequent sending, it costs $7 to $16 a month more than Brevo Starter.
  • We couldn't confirm whether Pro emails show Moosend branding, or how many automations and landing pages Pro allows.
  • Transactional emails (order confirmations) aren't on Pro, according to its pricing page.

Who should not choose Moosend: you want to spend $0 for now, or you email a 2,500 to 5,000 list about once a week and don't need landing pages.

Quick decision guide

  • Under ~300 contacts and want $0: Brevo free. Each send fits in one day.
  • 500 contacts, will pay: it's a $9 tie. Pick Moosend if you want landing pages, or if you might send more than 10 times a month.
  • 1,000 to 2,000 contacts, will pay: Moosend. It's $1 or more cheaper, with landing pages and no send counting.
  • 2,500 to 5,000 contacts, weekly or less, no landing pages needed: Brevo Starter, as long as you're fine with the logo or the $12 add-on (at 2,500, the add-on makes Brevo the more expensive one).
  • 2,500 to 5,000 contacts, sending more than twice a week, or needing landing pages: Moosend.

FAQ

Is Brevo cheaper than Moosend if I only send once a month?

Not on a small list. Brevo's contact caps decide the tier: 1,000 contacts needs the $17 tier and 2,000 needs the $25 tier even at one send a month, vs. $16 and $24 on Moosend. At 2,500 and 5,000 contacts, Brevo is cheaper ($25 vs. $32, $32 vs. $48). These are our calculations from both pricing pages, on monthly billing.

Does the Brevo logo appear on paid plans?

On Starter, yes, unless you buy the $12/month add-on. On Standard and higher it's included, so there's no logo (pricing.md).

Does Moosend put its logo in Pro emails?

We couldn't find this stated on Moosend's official pages. Send a test email during the trial and check the footer.

Bottom line

Up to 2,000 contacts, Moosend Pro gives you the same or a lower price than Brevo Starter, plus landing pages, and you can send as often as you like. At 2,500 to 5,000 contacts with weekly or less frequent sending, Brevo Starter is cheaper, if you can live without landing pages and with the logo (or the $12 add-on). And if you want to start at $0, only Brevo offers that.
