  9. Bottom line

The short answer: Moosend's cheapest paid plan, Pro, is $9/month for up to 500 subscribers billed monthly, or $7/month billed annually, with unlimited emails. For a small list, that's enough for most bloggers and solo creators, if you need automations like a welcome sequence. Moosend no longer has a free plan, only a 30-day trial with no card. If you just send a newsletter by hand, Kit's free plan costs $0 up to 10,000 subscribers, so paying for Moosend makes little sense. And if you run a shop that needs order-confirmation emails, check first: Moosend's pricing page marks transactional emails as not included on Pro (they're an add-on on its custom Moosend+ plan), even though Pro does include an SMTP server.

Prices and plan details are as of October 2026. We haven't used Moosend ourselves. Everything below comes from Moosend's pricing page and other official pages, which we re-checked on October 31, 2026, plus third-party sources where noted. Before you pay, enter your exact list size into the slider on Moosend's pricing page.

Is there still a free plan?

No. Moosend used to have a "free forever" plan. A Hacker News thread from around 2022 covers the change, and some Trustpilot reviewers were unhappy when it ended. G2's pricing page now says there's no permanent free plan. Older blog posts and Quora answers that mention a free plan for 1,000 subscribers are out of date.

What you get instead, according to Moosend's pricing page:

  • A 30-day free trial, no credit card required.
  • Unlimited email sends for up to 1,000 contacts during the trial.
  • 1 published automation workflow, plus 1 signup form and 1 landing page that you can't publish.
  • 2 team members.

That's enough to build a welcome sequence and design a signup form to test. It isn't a way to run your list for free. When the trial ends, the pricing FAQ says you can upgrade to a plan or buy email credits, and your data is kept. Credits are one email to one recipient each, don't expire, and the pricing page lists packs from 350,000 credits for $350 up to 1,000,000 for $1,000.

What Moosend Pro costs at 500, 1,000, 2,500 and 5,000 subscribers

Pro is priced by subscriber count, with unlimited emails at every tier. These are the per-month prices on the slider on Moosend's pricing page, checked October 31, 2026:

Subscribers Billed monthly Billed every 6 months Billed annually
Up to 500 $9/month $8/month $7/month
501 to 1,000 $16/month $14/month $13/month
2,500 (the 2,001 to 3,000 tier) $32/month $27/month $26/month
5,000 (the 3,001 to 5,000 tier) $48/month $41/month $38/month

Moosend's MailerLite comparison lists the same $9, $16 and $48 tiers. Its 2,001 to 3,000 row shows "$24" and "$32" in a way that looks like the columns are swapped, so go by the pricing page slider: $24 covers up to 2,000 subscribers, and 2,001 to 3,000 is $32.

Paying ahead cuts the price. The pricing FAQ lists 15% off bi-annual billing and 20% off annual billing, which is where the two right-hand columns come from.

One thing to know about the tiers: the jump is steep at the start. Going from 500 to 501 subscribers takes you from $9 to $16. By our math, that's a 78% increase for one subscriber. If you're near 500, budget for the $16 tier.

What Pro includes and what's limited

Here's what we could confirm, and what we couldn't.

Feature On Pro Source and notes
Emails per month Unlimited Moosend. We didn't find a published fair-use limit.
Automation workflows Included The pricing page comparison table ticks them for Pro without a number, so we couldn't confirm whether Pro caps the number of workflows. The trial allows 1.
Landing pages and forms Included Ticked for Pro on the pricing page, again without a number, so we couldn't confirm a Pro cap. The trial allows 1 of each, and you can't publish them.
Team members 5 Pricing page comparison table
Transactional emails (order confirmations, password resets) Not included; SMTP server is The pricing page crosses out "Transactional Emails" for Pro and lists them as a Moosend+ add-on, but ticks "SMTP Server" for Pro. Ask Moosend which one your order emails would need before you rely on it.
Moosend branding in your emails Unknown We couldn't find any official page saying whether Pro emails show Moosend branding or how to remove it.
Support Email and live chat, 24/5 Contact page. On the pricing page, an account manager is an add-on on Moosend+ and included on Enterprise, and priority support is listed only on Enterprise.
Custom reports, dedicated IP, SSO, Audience Discovery Not on Pro Paid add-ons on Moosend+, a custom-priced plan (pricing page)

For a blogger or solo creator, the missing pieces mostly don't matter. You'd rarely need a dedicated IP or SSO at 500 subscribers. The two gaps worth checking are transactional email, if you run a shop, and branding, if a clean footer matters to you. Both are worth asking Moosend's live chat about during the trial.

How it compares with Brevo free and Kit Free

The comparison depends on one question: do you need emails to go out automatically, like a welcome sequence? If you don't, the free plans win on price. If you do, Moosend undercuts Kit Creator at every list size we could price. Brevo is the closer race: its free plan runs automations at $0 for a list under about 300, and Starter matches Moosend's $9 at 500 contacts.

Bar chart of monthly cost with automations: Moosend Pro is $9 at 500 subscribers, $16 at 1,000, $32 at 2,500, and $48 at 5,000; Kit Creator is $39 at 500 and 1,000, at least $59 at 2,500, and not confirmed at 5,000

All prices are monthly billing. Kit's prices come from its help center: Creator is $39/month for up to 1,000 subscribers, and going past 1,000 moves you to the $59 tier. Brevo's "days per send" is simply list size divided by its 300-a-day free limit, rounded up, assuming you send nothing else that day.

  • Brevo's free plan keeps automation, but caps you at 300 emails a day and puts its logo on every email. Past about 300 subscribers, you finish every newsletter by hand over two or more days. The math and the Starter contact caps are in our Brevo free plan guide.
  • Kit's free plan sends to up to 10,000 subscribers at once, but has no sequences or automations. Creator adds them for $39/month at 1,000 subscribers. Details are in Kit Free vs Creator.

So if all you need is a weekly newsletter, Kit Free costs nothing where Moosend costs $9 to $48. If you need a welcome sequence, Moosend Pro costs $23 less per month than Kit Creator at 1,000 subscribers ($16 vs. $39). Brevo free can also run that sequence, but only while your whole list fits under 300 emails a day.

Pros and cons of Moosend Pro

Why people pick it

  • Automations, landing pages, and forms come with the cheapest paid tier, starting at $9/month.
  • Unlimited emails, so sending more often doesn't raise the bill.
  • No daily sending cap that we could find, so a newsletter should reach the whole list on the same day.
  • Five team members on Pro, according to the pricing page.

Downsides

  • No free plan. After 30 days, you pay or stop.
  • The price jumps from $9 to $16 as soon as you pass 500 subscribers.
  • Transactional emails aren't included on Pro. The pricing page lists them as an add-on on the custom-priced Moosend+ plan, though Pro does get an SMTP server.
  • We couldn't confirm whether Moosend branding appears in Pro emails.
  • Past 2,000 subscribers the price goes from $24 to $32 a month, and to $48 past 3,000.

Who should pick Moosend Pro, and who shouldn't

Pick Moosend Pro if:

  • You need a welcome sequence, an email course, or simple automations, and Kit Creator's $39/month is too much.
  • Your list is under about 2,000 subscribers, where Moosend's tiers stay at $24/month or less.
  • You've outgrown Brevo's 300-a-day free limit and want every send to go out the same day.

Skip it if:

  • You only send newsletters. Kit's free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers for $0.
  • Your list is under 300 and you email rarely. Brevo's free plan includes automation at no cost.
  • You need transactional email bundled in. Confirm with Moosend first.
  • You're leaving Mailchimp and want the full field compared, including migration steps. See our Mailchimp alternatives for small lists.

How to use the 30-day trial well

The trial gives you one published automation and up to 1,000 contacts. Use it to check the things we couldn't:

  1. Build your real welcome sequence as your one published workflow, and send it to yourself.
  2. Look at the footer of a test email to see whether Moosend branding appears.
  3. Ask live chat whether Pro's SMTP server covers the order or password emails you need, or whether you'd need the transactional email add-on.
  4. Move the pricing slider to your current list size and to double that size, so you know where your next tier lands.

FAQ

Does Moosend still have a free plan?

No. It has a 30-day free trial with no credit card, unlimited sends for up to 1,000 contacts, one published automation, and one unpublished landing page (pricing page). The old free-forever plan ended around 2022.

What happens when the trial ends?

According to the pricing FAQ, you can upgrade to a paid plan or buy email credits, and your data is kept. The pricing page lists credit packs from 350,000 emails for $350 up to 1,000,000 for $1,000, and the credits don't expire.

Is Moosend really $9 a month?

Only up to 500 subscribers, billed monthly. It's $8/month billed every six months and $7/month billed annually at that size. From 501 to 1,000 subscribers it's $16/month, at 2,500 it's $32/month, and at 5,000 it's $48/month, all on monthly billing (pricing page).

Is there a limit on how many emails I can send on Pro?

Moosend describes Pro as including unlimited emails. We didn't find a published fair-use limit.

Can I send order confirmations from Moosend Pro?

Not with the transactional email feature. The pricing page marks transactional emails as not included on Pro and offers them as an add-on on the custom Moosend+ plan. Pro does include an SMTP server, so ask Moosend support whether that covers your shop's emails before you sign up for this reason.

Is Moosend cheaper than Kit?

If you need automations, yes: $16/month vs. $39/month at 1,000 subscribers on monthly billing. If you don't, Kit's free plan is cheaper at $0 up to 10,000 subscribers.

Bottom line

Moosend Pro is a cheap way to get automations: $9 to $16 a month for up to 1,000 subscribers, less than half of Kit Creator's $39. If you need a welcome sequence and your list is under 1,000, we'd start Moosend's trial before paying for Kit Creator. It isn't free anymore, though, and it's not the cheapest option for a plain newsletter, where Kit Free costs nothing. Use the 30-day trial to confirm branding, transactional email, and your exact tier before you pay.
